Amazon shorts.com is a relatively new and undiscovered web-site, where published authors submit short stories, 2000 to 10,000 words, and can be downloaded to your computer, then printed or stored to your computer or Blackberry to peruse by the pool, on the plane, or on break from work. The cost is 49 cents per download, and the author gets a significant portion of the revenue. Will Kester was recently asked to submit some short stories, and will be bringing you short stories, some fiction and some non-fiction, soon. It will take some time for the paperwork to completed and the first story, "Dubai, U.A.E., 1973," to be posted. It is about Dubai when it was still a mud-brick trading port, not the collussus it has become, and a young man's almost-true-to-life adventures in an alien world, far from home.

Some of the author's currently written yet unpublished works include: Terror in the Orient, follows Shifting Sands, but is not a sequel. It does reintroduce some minor characters, and increases their roles, but it stands alone, without having to read any of his earlier books. Waves of Anguish, follows , Castle in the Wind, but it too is not a sequel, but does use some minor characters again, with new leading characters, and was originally intended to be a trilogy. OOPS! The Adventures of Jinx and Philo, is a book for young readers. Jinx, with his dog, Philo, along with his neighbor and kind-of-friend, Eddy, accidentally take a ride in a star ship to Alpha Centauri, where they meet aliens, and then travel through time. It has adventures, the stuff of which little boys dreams are filled. Not yet complete are sequels, Uh, Oh! The Adventures of...you get the idea. A Family's Legend, a fictional stroy of immigrants to America, loosely based on the author's family history. It is a sweeping epic of tragedy and triumph of the human spirit. One boy's life spans numerous generations across America's history and continental expansion, beginning with his grandfather, and concluding with his grandchildren. Mystery of Antilles' Treasure, set in the Caribbean, it may be the most fun, and best work of this author, yet.

"OOPS! The Adventures of Jinx and Philo" will hopefully be in print soon, but no promises at this time. It is for young readers, ages nine to twelve, with two boys and a dog in a starship to Alpha Centauri. It definitely fits the author's concept of the kind of books he loves to write -- it's fun.
